St Dunstan Hoofs the Devil - Two colour Screenprint

St Dunstan Hoofs the Devil - Two colour Screenprint

St Dunstan Hoofs the Devil - Two colour Screenprint (Detail)

St Dunstan Hoofs the Devil - Two colour Screenprint (Detail)

I finished this two colour screen print a while ago for the Museum of British folklore, to be sold at they're Pop-up Yuletide shop in London running until December the 21st. All information can be found at the link below.

The piece is based on an old Folk tale where St Dunstan had a run in with the Devil himself and ended up hammering a horse shoe onto one of his hooves. Leaving Satan in immense pain. St Dunstan would only remove the shoe if he would never return again- which is why you have lucky horse shoes.

The print is an edition of 8. Two colours each separate layer drawn by hand and screen printed at my studio, on lovely off-white Summer set Satarn heavy weight paper.

Available to buy at a very reasonable price please email me at Liam.barrett@live.com or go to the MoBF Yuletide shop and speak to the great Simon Costin.

NoBrow - The Double

NoBrow - The Double Printed

NoBrow - The Double

Really happy to be part of the new NoBrow book, it's called 'The Double' and out now. The book has been reincarnated- It's now a beefy double cover with one half comics and one half drawing. It has some amazing artists including (off the top of my head) - Jon McNaught, Rob hunter, Jack Teagle, Kyle Platts, Tom Gauld and Ana Albero.

This is called 'Everybody's got a double but me' a bitter/silly/Hard-done-by piece about Girls. This song pretty much sums it up -

More NoBrow updates to come.

PS- Sorry for the bad photography, It's not a neon orange.

Ivor Cutler Screenprint

Everybody needs Ivor in their life at some point. He wrote very beautiful and funny poetry/songs .He’s one of my all time favorites, check out the link below and let him into your life.

Was thinking about making this into a four colour screen print using gold ink as one of the colours but have decided against it as I don’t thonk it conveys the fun of Ivor Cutlers work but I do think it might make a good book jacket.

Pictoplasma Character Walk, Berlin

I was really glad to be asked by InkyGoodness to take part in an exhibition as part of the Pictolasma Character Walk in Berlin.

Along with other international artists the totem poles will be exhibited for a week as part of the Festival at the Neurotitan Gallery, Berlin. So go have a look if your around, There are plenty of amazing people involved.

My totems a little patchy in places but I think it came out ok considering I haven't painted in years and never anything this big. Hopefully i made up for it by sticking an extra bunch of stuff on.
